  • Unity SDK V2 - Released

    The PlayFab Unity SDK V2 has been available in Beta for 3 weeks, now. We did one week of an internal beta and two weeks of a public Beta, and the results have been excellent. The adoption rate has been even better than we expected, and we have received lots of feedback that we have incorporated into the SDK. With that, the time has come and we are pleased to announce that the new Unity SDK V2 is officially released!

  • Check out Unicorn Battle

    Unicorn Battle is a simple, yet fully-featured game, that we built to help us demonstrate the various systems and features of PlayFab. It has turned out to also be a very useful testing and debugging tool, and a great sandbox for playing with new PlayFab features. Today we are happy to release on GitHub the full source code for Unicorn Battle. Playing around with Unicorn Battle is a great way to experiment with what PlayFab can do.

  • Introducing Union, our new sample MOBA game

Union is a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game for Android devices, built with Unity and designed to demonstrate PlayFab features in action, including Photon integration. Among the features this game shows off: In-app purchases using PlayFab’s catalog features and Google Play receipt validation Leaderboard stats based on numbers of kills Facebook authentication and profile integration Kills and win/loss ratios tracked in player statistics Photon integration, including room creation, chat, and all realtime events and remote procedure calls Matchmaking players using Cloud Script to balance the teams with the total numbers of kills made by the player in the past Union is yours to play with.

  • New PlayFab betas for Photon, Unity

    We’re pleased to announce we’ve now made it even easier to integrate Photon multiplayer and the Unity game engine with PlayFab’s services. We have a major release still in the works, but our private beta has gone so well that we’re opening up early access to all developers.  Photon Many of you are already using Photon on our private PlayFab cloud, and this release makes it simpler than ever to add server logic to your game.

  • Unity SDK for PlayFab now available

    Well, actually, the Unity SDK was first published several weeks ago but we’re behind in updating this blog. The new Unity SDK makes it much easier to use the full set of PlayFab services from any game developed in Unity. It comes in two parts. The first part is a C# wrapper around our Web API. The second part are  examples and prefabs  that integrate with the Unity editor to make your life easier.  Type in your PlayFab TitleID, drag & drop our login prefab and start connecting your game mechanics to our large list of APIs.
